Book Review: Body Goddess

In a fast moving world of corporate life and busy schedules, health has become secondary for women, replaced by the aim to earn more money and living a comfortable life. We tend to forget that to achieve this aim we need a healthy body and an even more healthy mind. The lifestyle wellness guru turned author, Payal Gidwani Tiwari, in her second book, tells us about this in a crisp and motivating manner.

With our lives, our bodies too are changing. Puberty, pregnancy, obesity, thyroid, PCOS, menopause, stress—as women go through different stages of life, their bodies too transform accordingly. So how does one deal with these changes? Bollywood’s most celebrated yoga expert, Payal Gidwani Tiwari comes to your rescue. From the basics of yoga to their practical application in our day to day life—Payal’s essential mantras guarantee not just weight loss but also promise a healthier lifestyle. Designed for all age groups, this book comes enriched with easy to follow exercise regimes and invaluable tips. Body Goddess is indispensable for every woman who wants to look and feel like a diva.

This book is a very well structured with the first part talking about Chakras, Kriyas, Pranayam, Asanas, Suryanamskar and some basic exercises. The second part focuses more on exercises for women of different age groups – 15 to 25, 35 – 35, 35 – 45 and after 45 years. It comes with illustrations and has well-explained steps of performing the different asanas, which is very helpful. The first section details about some basics of yoga that we need to know to understand its profoundness. It also talks about some basic ailments and simple solutions for curing them. The second part is more practical with suggested workouts for women of different age groups.

For someone like me, who has always been an easy give-upper, this book has convinced me to think otherwise. I plan to try out the basic workout and see how it turns out for me and doesn’t that imply the success of the book?

Pick this one up if you are looking for a change in the way you live, to improve your life for the better.
